Villera Style

The Villera Music is a sub category of the Cumbia Argentina. This is directed to the Public in the Villas Miserias of Gran Buenos Aires.

The development and creation of cumbia villera is credited to Pablo Lescano (creator of the group Damas Gratis). Damas Gratis pays tribute to one of the bands most successful beer of Peru, the group's Blackbird, performing her song "I regret at La Selva" and "The Dance of the Blackbirds" (mixtures of cumbia and Peruvian Amazonian folklore.)

Also in development cumbia collaborated villera his cousin, Daniel Lescano leader of the first group of Argentina cumbia villera Flor de Piedra, although he participated as musician. Other groups who entered and were pioneers in this genre were The GEDES, Mala Fama and Yerba Brava, among others.
